“Any patch of sunlight in a wood will show you something about the sun which you will never get from reading books on astronomy. These pure and spontaneous pleasures are ‘patches of Godlight’ in the woods of our experience.” C S Lewis
Photo by Exhibit A who, from his position, couldn’t see the woman walking up the path to my patch of Godlight! Eek! Also, Honey, this area of Epping Forest is known at The Ditches, so I had to have ‘one for the ditch’ didn’t I?!
I might have to explore there and see if I can find one for the ditch – or just find you in the ditch for some fun. Xx

This is magnificent! I hope you don’t mind if we steal this idea, next time we are down at the lake house for pictures… ~C

Outstanding photo by Exhibit A. You illustrate the quotes so well, and beautifully, I might add.

I am guessing Epping Forest was a win then…. should I add it to my list of places to explore?

Def! It was a bit boggy and we happened across some people but not too many. Imagine there are some more remote parts too. Xx

Oh – I’m catching my breath. This is such a powerful image. It’s dark and captivating and reminds me of an old fairy tale. I’m not sure why, but there’s something that feels a bit sinister to me in this image… and I love it.

Isn’t it just a magical place . . . and you make it look even more so . . . and I’m so intrigued to hear more about the lady on the path!!!

She was walking towards me as the photo was taken and then slowed down to peer in the bushes as I was getting dressed. She was probably worried about what on earth was going on but was trying to hide as she looked!

Your photograph makes me think about al fresco sex. I’ve been a very rare participant since leaving school, but our parents gave us little option but to experience wild sex when we were still at school.
As an adult my only experience was in a Spanish street. We were out of sight, but only just.
When Peter and I were teen lovers all of our al fresco adventures were within a short distance of where we now live as pensioners. I think we might have to go back to one of those locations and square the circle this summer.
Will report back. LOL.
Meantime do keep producing your delightful images.

Oh I have some great memories of that place but none of them involve stumbling across a gorgeous someone laying on a path!
